Welcome to The College of Animal Welfare
The College of Animal Welfare was established in 1989 to further animal welfare through education and training. The College has a well earned reputation for excellence, delivering quality training and education, and has a history of being pioneers with a number of unique achievements that have created new opportunities for learning.
Today the college is an independent ‘not for profit’ organisation specialising in veterinary nurse and animal care training and operates from four training centres in the UK including two of the country’s leading veterinary schools.

Careers Advice
For those interested in working with animals but wishing to explore which area to get involved in, we hold an annual ‘Careers With Animals Day’ event. This is a very popular event with representatives from different areas of the animal care sector available to speak to. Past exhibitors have included organisations such as The Blue Cross, Groomers, Pet Care Trust, Defence Animal Centre, British Veterinary Nursing Association and the Royal Veterinary College.
Veterinary Nursing Training
We offer a wide range of veterinary nursing courses. If you are looking to qualify as a veterinary nurse we offer pre-training courses and a variety of veterinary nursing courses.
Animal Care Training
We are one of the leading bespoke training providers in the UK and deliver training to many of the UK’s largest animal welfare charities. We provide a range of services for those working with animals including full and part time courses, apprenticeships and various short courses ranging from one day to week long seminars.
