Bite-Size CPD: Equine - Geriatric Medicine

Course Introduction:

The longer you have a horse or a donkey, the older it gets! Despite the care and love owners lavish on their cantering companions, the simple fact is that elderly patients suffer from completely different diseases than their younger counterparts. This lecture will cover the common diseases which affect the older horse, pony or donkey, and how these patients can be helped to have a good quality of life.

This lecture is the sixth in a six part series on Equine Nursing.

Lecturer Profile:

Louise Cornish BVMS Cert EP MRCVS graduated from Glasgow University in 1998. She gained her experience in mixed and equine practices in Northern Ireland, Australia, and Scotland. She gained her RCVS Certificate in Equine Practice in 2007. She is now Senior Assistant at Clyde Vet Group and is responsible for coordination of anaesthesia and reproduction services. She also is a clinical coach for equine nursing students.
