An Introduction to Education & Learning

If you enjoy supporting students and would like to expand your knowledge and develop your career in a new direction then a career in education may be for you. This could be, for example, by assessing, coaching or moving into the field of academia by becoming a Lecturer.

Employment opportunities exist for Lecturers looking to work full-time, part-time or on an occasional basis.

As well as time spent lecturing in the classroom, this role also involves planning and preparing lessons, setting and marking assignments and exams, monitoring students’ progress and developing new courses and teaching materials.

If you have extensive knowledge and enthusiasm of your subject, are able to relate well to students of all ages and abilities, can express yourself clearly and have patience and a sense of humour then this career is worth considering!

It will help you develop your presentation and communication skills, whilst highlighting the importance that planning, assessing and evaluating has in the learning experience.
