Dog Grooming Awareness Month (DGAM) is a new annual campaign from The College of Animal Welfare, created to celebrate the dog grooming profession and highlight its vital role in animal welfare.

This campaign aims to shine a spotlight on dog grooming as a skilled, rewarding career, while helping to raise awareness of the training pathways available to those looking to enter or progress within the industry. It also reinforces the importance of professional grooming in maintaining the health, comfort, and wellbeing of dogs.

Throughout the month of July, we aim to bring together groomers, students, employers, and dog owners to recognise the value of the profession and support its continued growth.

Our theme for 2026 is: Love Dog Grooming

This year's theme will celebrate everything that makes dog grooming an important and rewarding profession - from the care and skill involved in grooming, to the positive impact groomers have on dogs and their owners every day. The campaign will spotlight the passion, creativity, wellbeing, and career opportunities that make the industry so special.
