Veterinary Nursing Lecturer
Kara currently teaches on the Veterinary Nursing programmes at a variety of levels, including L3 Diploma, Foundation Degree and Bachelors in Science (BSc). These programmes include a very wide variety of topics, everything from anatomy and physiology to communication skills. Kara is heavily involved with practical skills training within these programmes. She enjoys teaching students different skills and helping them link these to the theory aspects they’ve learned.
Kara qualified from the University of Bristol with a BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Nursing and Bio-veterinary Science. Between her graduation and starting with CAW, she worked in a wide variety of practice environments, such as first opinion, ICU, referral and as a locum. Her interests are in anaesthesia, microscopy and welfare.
Outside of lecturing Kara ia a keen rock climber (indoors and out), runner and lover of yoga. She also has a rescue English Bull Terrier, who is affectionately known as ‘Pig’.
