Voo Veterinary Group are offering the opportunity for three people passionate about becoming a veterinary nurse to experience all parts of veterinary care to become well-rounded and experienced in all sectors of veterinary nursing. The candidates will be driven to provide excellence in care and standards to their patients and clients.

What you'll do at work

  • Reception skills and client communication
  • High level disinfection or clinic organisation with stock control and daily cleans of the wards and equipment
  • Take part in patient husbandry from walking, feeding, cleaning bedding, grooming and administering medications
  • Patient handling for a variety of species
  • Sedation and general anaesthesia monitoring
  • Patient recovery
  • Laboratory work on a variety of internal machines
  • Learn to take bloods and place IVs
  • Learn to position for radiographs
  • Witness and assist in referral surgeries alongside diplomats and certificate holders
  • Conduct nursing consults when required

All nurses are encouraged to be practical and hands-on, learning skills to enable blood taking, IV placements and radiograph positioning so they can support the vets in patient care and be part of the process to improving patients' lives.

Training

You will undertake the Veterinary Nurse Level 3 Apprenticeship (Companion Animal) with The College of Animal Welfare as part of the apprenticeship.

Essential qualifications

A minimum of 5 GCSEs (grade A*-C or 9-4) including English Language, Maths and Science.
