This is a great opportunity for someone who has already studied AAT level 2 or has some experience working in an accounts role. The role involves sales ledger, raising invoices, processing payments, dealing with customer queries. Purchase ledger, processing invoices received, confirming validity, setting up payments with authorisation, VAT returns. Contributing data for completion of management accounts.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Accounts Assistant reporting to the Managing Director. Initially working from Godmanchester during the training period. Options are to remain in Godmanchester, Huntingdon Business Centre or work from home.

  • Sales ledger, raising invoices, processing payments, dealing with customer queries
  • Purchase ledger, processing invoices received, confirming validity, setting up payments with authorisation, VAT returns
  • Contributing data for completion of management accounts
  • Using Xero, Word, Excel, Outlook

The candidate would be expected to extract information from the Remote Managing Monitoring system to raise Technical Service time invoices.

Training will be provided to meet our expectations.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 3 Account Assistant Apprenticeship Standard
  • Remote study supported by personal tutor, contact at agreed times
  • Unless exempt, Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English are also undertaken, which are assessed via online examinations and practical assessments

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Long term role with growth as learning takes place, additional duties within a role and a wider range of responsibilities

Annual wage

£25,000 - £30,000 pro rata

Working week

22-25 hours (3 days per week) Days and shifts are to be confirmed. Total hours per week: 22 hours a week
