Veterinary Nursing Lecturer

Nikita teaches on the Veterinary Nursing diploma, foundation year and degree. This covers all aspects of veterinary nursing.

Nikita qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2012 having completed a Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing at CAW in Huntingdon. She then studied for a Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Small Animal) at Harper Adams University. Her specialist modules were anaesthesia, surgical nursing and medical nursing. Having attained the DipAVN, she then stayed studying at Harper Adams University and topped up her nursing qualification to a BSc.

Alongside her studies, Nikita worked full time for 12 years in veterinary practice, mostly in a busy first opinion small animal practice, but also at a hospital and emergency and critical care experience.

Whilst in practice, Nikita set up and ran a range of nurse clinics and puppy socialisation classes. She was also a clinical coach and oversaw the practical teaching of a range of degree and diploma veterinary nursing students for five years, which she enjoyed so much she decided to take to the classroom full time.
