Funding released for 50 more free VCA places – Don’t Miss out!

The College of Animal Welfare is delighted to announce that we have received further funding to allow us to, once again, offer the Level 2 Diploma for Veterinary Care Assistants (VCA) by online learning completely free!

The last round of funding was swallowed up by practices in less than a month, and we are expecting employers to be quick off the mark to take advantage of this rare opportunity. Once all of the 50 places have been allocated, then the offer will have to close.

Veterinary practices do not have to be an RCVS Training Practice or involved in veterinary nurse training to train their veterinary care staff using this nationally recognised qualification.

Funding is available for students, aged 19 or over, who are employed in a veterinary practice* in England and will cover both the course fee (£825) and the awarding body fees (£174) saving employers almost a thousand pounds!

The course is taught completely online so no attendance at College is required. Students can start at any time and should aim to complete the award within 12 months.

The VCA qualification can also, in combination with GCSEs at Grade C or above in English Language and Maths (or equivalent), allow progression onto the Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing programme.

Further details on the VCA programme can be found here.  To enrol online please click here or call us on 0844 372 9410.

* The employer must have less than 250 employees

For just £64 your receptionists can gain a nationally recognised qualification in customer service!

Following on from the release of additional funding for the Veterinary Care Assistants qualification that was swallowed up by practices in less than a month, The College of Animal Welfare now has something special to offer your receptionists!

We have a very limited amount of funding (in England only) to cover the course fees of the City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Customer Service qualification which is ideal for receptionists or anyone employed in a role where they have a lot of contact of clients. The only contribution that is required is the City & Guilds awarding body fees of £64.

The NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Customer Service is a work-based programme so no attendance at College is required, it is available to start at any time and should be completed within 12 months.

For those students wishing to take advantage of the funding, there are some eligibility criteria which must be met; this may disappoint a few people, such as those who already hold a higher education qualification. The College will be able to advise on eligibility.

Only a limited number of funded places are available and these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Further details on the programme can be found here or by calling us on 0844 372 9410. To enrol online please click here.
