Aston has a friendly clinical team of seven vets, 14 veterinary nurses, and five veterinary care assistants supported by an experienced administration team of four receptionists, three animal care auxiliaries and a client care manager We benefit from a diverse mix of very experienced and newly qualified vets and nurses, along with being a nurse training practice, with the benefit of volunteers so there is never a lonely moment!

Our purpose-built single storey clinic has staff parking and a newly refurbished waiting room. To manage our busy caseload we have six consult rooms, four of which are shared which are ideal for teaching and teamwork.  Off a spacious preparation area are two separate theatres are used for concurrent surgeries with one ideal for orthopaedics, in addition to a tub table with dental machine, new high quality ultrasound machine in an adjacent room and digital radiography suite. The practice has access to a standard endoscopy unit and a range of orthopaedic kit including ASIF and hand tools.


Hours of work excellent are 9:00am until 5.30pm, with one 8am start and one 6pm finish a week (lieu time given for any extra time worked) with an hour lunch break and two well-respected 15 minute tea breaks, During the working day boredom is seldom seen and job satisfaction high; with an emphasis on education and preventative treatment which is well received. The opportunity for surgery exceeds that of traditional private practice and there are a few medical challenges too. About the Role:


We are looking to recruit a Qualified Veterinary Nurse (VN) who will provide a high standard of customer service and clinical care whilst promoting pet wellbeing, supporting Veterinary Surgeons to deliver preventive services and to treat sick and injured pets of eligible clients.


Working as part of a team that supports in theatre, provides inpatient care and carries out consults, admissions and discharges, our Veterinary Nurses are also involved in dispensing medication, encouraging financial contributions from clients and maintaining the hygiene and cleanliness of the hospital and equipment.


Depending on the needs of the hospital we have Veterinary Nurses working both full and part time hours, with opportunities for career progression at PDSA for the right candidate.

About You:


The successful candidate will be a Qualified RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse, expected to keep your professional knowledge updated by taking part in continuous professional development and will be committed to the vision and mission of PDSA.
