Surgery Information / Job Description
Spay a cat in 6 minutes?
Spay a bitch in 15 minutes?
Is your knowledge on neutering ages current?
Cat castrate?….blink and you’ll miss it.
Castrate and spey rabbits?
Extract rabbit incisors?
Stitch up a snake?
Can you sort a pyo?
Can you do a caesarean?
Advise on breeding?
Perform BOAS rhinoplasties and shorten soft palates?
Can you perform morgan pocket cherry eye’s?
Place corneal pedicle grafts?
Surgically extract a canine tooth?
Do a TECA-BO or Lateral wall resection?
Can you remove a spleen, a kidney, bladder stones?
Go foreign-body fishing in a gut, foot or ear?
Find an adrenal gland with ultrasound?
Can you do ultrasound guided biopsies?
Can you do an Echocardiogram?
Drain a Pericardial effusion or a pyothorax?
Can you do a Femoral heal and neck excision arthroplasty, tibial crest transposition and trochleoplasty?
Pin and wire fractures?
Can you do a lateral suture cruciate, how about an MMP?
Can you stabilise a diabetic, a cushingoid, an hypothyropid dog an hyperththyroid, hypertensive cat?

“Mini-Me” required to help lead a family of dedicated vets, nurses and support staff in one of the largest practices in the region which is still growing after 13 years.
Oh and you’ll be by the seaside.
You will be joining a talented team of 5 Vets, (one soon to be a surgery certificate holder), 6 RVNs, 2 Student Vet Nurses, 1 VCA, 1 Practice Manager and 4 Receptionists. We have a high ratio of Vets to Nurses so there is plenty of support available! As an experienced Vet, you will be confident with routine surgery and consults, you will also need to enjoy building strong relationships and enjoy the variety provided by clients and colleagues alike.
This is a full time position with a weekend rota of approximately 1 in 5 weekends (9am - 5pm on Saturday and 10am - 4pm on Sunday). There will be some sole charge but no OOH allowing for an excellent work/life balance!
