We are seeking a Year 3 SVN, soon to qualify to join our team at Medivet Canonbury in North London.

Medivet Canonbury is a large 3 vet branch with a great nursing team made up of our HRVN, 2 SVNs and reception team. The clinic is equipped with 2 cat consults, 2 dog consults, pet shop/large reception, digital x-ray, lab and ultrasound.

Through regular performance reviews and catch-ups, we provide you with a wealth of opportunities to develop your skills in whichever way you choose.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assisting vets, qualified and student nurses with all aspects of their work
  • Caring for animals, administering, simple medical treatments under instruction and supervision

  • Many aspects of client communication, reception duties, taking payments, computer work
  • Expected to be undertaking formal training towards a veterinary nursing qualification

Skills and Experience

  • Applicants must currently be a Student Veterinary Nurse, already enrolled in college
  • Demonstrates empathy with patients and clients
  • Ability to work in a team and under pressure
  • Adaptable and friendly nature
  • Exceptional communications, eager to build strong relationships with both colleagues and clients
  • Good customer service experience
  • Full driver's licence would be an advantage

Salary and hours: 

  • Salary £16,725 - £22,961 per annum, depending on experience (includes £2000 London weighting allowance)
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid
  • 4 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Hours are 43 with 1:3 weekends and a fair share of bank holiday cover with time off in lieu
  • Minimal on call duties over the year, approx. 3 weeks to support our dedicated night team if required, enabling the development of your Emergency and Critical Care skills and experience
