Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic Veterinary Care Assistant to support our veterinary team in delivering exceptional care to animals. The successful candidate will assist veterinarians and veterinary nurses with the daily care of patients, maintain a clean and safe clinical environment, and provide excellent customer service to pet owners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the handling, restraint, and care of animals during examinations and treatments.
  • Prepare consultation rooms, surgical areas, and equipment before procedures.
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain kennels, cages, examination rooms, and clinical equipment.
  • Feed, exercise, and monitor hospitalised animals, reporting any changes in behaviour or condition.
  • Reception work
  • Support veterinary staff during routine procedures and diagnostic testing.
  • Stock and organise medical supplies, ensuring inventory is maintained.
  • Dispose of clinical waste safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service, including greeting clients and answering basic enquiries.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as filing records, scheduling appointments, and updating patient information as required.
  • Follow infection prevention, biosecurity, and workplace health and safety protocols at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and patient information.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Physical ability to safely lift, restrain, and care for animals of various sizes.
