Caring for the European Badger: Triage and Decision making: The European badger has many threats in the UK, including road traffic accidents, habitat disturbances, illegal persecutions and territorial disputes. Wildlife Rehabilitators and Veterinary Professionals have a responsibility to conserve and protect this species, whether this simply means euthanasia or providing responsible rehabilitation solutions and Veterinary care. When rehabilitating badgers, decision making is one of the most important factors to consider, we must not release any animal without the ability to survive and thrive in the wild. This presentation aims to highlights key decision making factors when admitting badger patients including, triage, specific nursing care, safe handling and case examples.
