This independent Hospital is rapidly expanding and developing so we are seeking a Part Time/Full Time Student Equine Nurse (permanent) to join our dedicated and hardworking teams within a well-established Equine & Small Animal Veterinary Hospital. Our independence allows us to be adaptable and flexible and respect ethics.
Successful candidates must have:

• A professional appearance and attitude
• Based in East Anglia, a car is essential due to
location as no public transport.

Trotting up and lungeing of horses
Nursing and care of in-patients and post-operative patients
Ward rounds with Veterinary Surgeon
Completion of inpatient records, admission forms and invoicing
Drug administration and dispensing under the direction of the Veterinary Surgeon
Admission and Discharge of patients
General hygiene of the stable area
General assistance and support to the Equine Veterinary Nurses and Surgeons
Preparation of theatre suite, preparation area, equipment and patients
Pre, peri and immediate post-operative care
Assistance with induction of anaesthesia
Assistance during surgical procedures
General maintenance of hygiene and equipment in theatre suite
Responsibility for personal health and safety
Preparation of equipment and patient
Assistance with and performance of radiography procedures
Answering telephone and other reception duties when required
Maintain up to date knowledge of practice products and services
Work independently and as a team member to further practice objectives
Attendance at nurse meetings and practice meetings
General tidiness and cleanliness of whole surgery
Mucking out stables/removal of old bedding
Feeding, hay and water as directed by Veterinary Nurses
General yard duties
We schedule regular lunch and learn CPD sessions in our meeting room, enjoy celebrating birthdays and general achievements at work with tea & cakes, and every now and again our practice manager, organises a bake off where we can all take part and vote for the winner!
