Work Experience Week and The Wildlife Trusts

This week it is Work Experience Week 2015 (#WEWeek2015), a dedicated week to exploring the long-term benefits that practical experience can bring.

Volunteering is an excellent way in which build up your expertise, many organisations rely upon volunteers in order to be able to continue the work they do. One such example is The Wildlife Trusts.

You may well be surprised at the range of opportunities that The Wildlife Trusts have available. They currently have a number of volunteering vacancies which can be seen on their website – http://www.wildlifebcn.org/volunteer-opportunities. Their vacancies range from administrative roles such as a Wildlife Data Analyst to practical roles including Wildlife Watch Leader and an Education and Community Assistant.

One of their priority areas for conservation is the Ouse Valley Living Landscape project. Extensive work is currently being undertaken to expand and link together existing nature reserves by working in partnerships with local authorities and communities. This will result in flower-rich meadows, increased invertebrates and larger numbers of winter wildfowl that we can all enjoy.
