Recruit an Animal Care Apprentice – Anytime and Anywhere in England

In animal care businesses, no two workplaces are the same – and neither are their staffing needs. That’s why The College of Animal Welfare offers animal care apprenticeships across the whole of England that can be started at any time, with no requirement for physical college attendance.

No matter where your business is located — urban, rural, or remote — we can support you. Our apprenticeships are delivered throughout England, making them accessible to:

  • Rescue centres and charities
  • Animal boarding and day care providers
  • Zoos, wildlife parks, and sanctuaries
  • City farms and more!

Start when it suits you

Unlike traditional college courses with fixed academic intakes, our apprenticeships can be started at any time of year and fitted around your recruitment needs, allowing you to respond quickly to staffing demands

If you’ve found the right candidate, there’s no need to wait months to get them started.

No college attendance required

One of the biggest advantages for employers is that our apprentices do not attend college on a weekly basis. Instead, training is delivered through online learning with support from personal tutor.

This means less disruption to your rota, more time spent in the workplace with your apprentice learning on the job rather than sitting in a classroom miles away.

Real-world training, real-world results

Our Level 2 and Level 3 Animal Care Apprenticeships are designed around practical skills, professional behaviours, and industry knowledge standards. Apprentices develop competence in areas directly relevant to their role, ensuring they add value to your team from early on:
